Los Angeles native Aaronique “Maverick” Kelly discovered her inner "Maverick" at a very young age. Growing up with a single mother, she had the help of a special village consisting of her grandmother, aunts and God mother to help mold her into the creative you see today. Greatly influenced by her grandmother who was an infamous beautician and an amazing cook from Little Rock, Arkansas, she gained an affinity for food, beauty and fashion at the young age of 5. 

Being a multifaceted kid from south central LA, she was exposed to various genres of art, music, dance, entertainment & culture. This sparked a fire in her heart that inspired her to remove any limitations the world may set for her and to push full force to pursue any dream in her heart. Highly active, she began to write music, dance, act & play sports in the 5th grade.

Once relocated to Atlanta, GA in 2001, she decided to focus on basketball 100%. This led to a state championship her senior year and a basketball scholarship to Clark Atlanta University. Transferring to Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN, she earned her B.S in Computer Science. 

Maverick's life proved to be a true test. In 2006 while she was still a student at TSU, she gained custody of her two younger sisters due to her mother being sentenced to 5 years in prison. Her sisters were 1 and 6 years old at that time ans she was only 20. Due to her mother not being stable enough to care for the girls, she maintained custody and raised them for 10 years.  

After ten years of soul searching and working in various industries from food service, corporate sales, personal styling and marketing, she realized that she had always had a passion for culinary arts. It was her love for food, entertainment and marketing that made her realize her true dream. In 2015 she decided to re-focus and re-brand herself giving birth to MAVERICK.

This prompted a move back to her home town of Los Angeles, CA to start pursuing her dreams of becoming a celebrity personal chef.

Since moving back to Los Angeles, she has been featured as a food stylist on the Nationally syndicated morning show Hollywood Today Live As well as worked as a chef with Wolfgang Puck Catering company, Patina Group Catering, Chef D. (Simply D’licious), and as Sous Chef for In Good Taste LA. She has also worked with the Escape Hotel in Hollywood, developing their café menu concept upon during their grand opening in 2017. In addition to expanding her private catering clientele and private catering services, Maverick developed Mav Sauce and Mav Snacks gourmet cannabis infused snacks and sauces in 2018. An edibles brand that specializes in handmade gluten, soy and GMO free products.

Chef Maverick is truly one of a kind bringing a unique energy to every service. Infusing amazing tasting healthy foods with high energy and a turnt up twist.
